Welcome to Groundswell, an engaging conversation with Christian leaders who are committed to transforming lives across North America. Your hosts are Jeremy Summers, director of Spiritual Formation for the Wesleyan Denomination and Heath Mullikin, pastor of Oakway United Wesleyan Church. Today’s conversation is with Pastor Nick Emery, the Senior Pastor of Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church in Carson city Nevada. Nick attended Simpson University in Redding, CA where the Lord called him into full-time ministry in the summer of 2004. He has served in ministry in the Christian & Missionary Alliance and the Nazarene church before becoming the Assistant Pastor at Riverside Wesleyan Church in Sacramento, CA. Pastor Nick married his best friend Melanie in February of 2009 and together they have two beautiful daughters and one amazing son. And, he is a HUGE Seattle Seahawks fan. Today, we talk to Nick about the transition from being a youth pastor to a senior pastor and building a disciple making culture in his church. We would love your feedback by commenting on the blog, joining our Facebook group, or tweeting us @heathmullikin and @jeremysummers using the hashtag #groundswell.
